ok, well i'm not gonna lie. honestly i find the image really disturbing. there could be a number of reasons for that, but i think a major one is the very soft, shiny texture of the lips combined with the sharp, rough texture of the stubble. i have to say that the piece is very well done, though. i really like the color range that you used in the lips as well. and, the piece is, in fact, very sensual, despite my own weird feelings in saying that. nice work.

I'm planning a series similar but it will be of photographs...
Challenging gender based assumptions and perceptions...
Asking what is sensuality?
What is male sensuality? Female? Is there a difference?
What is beautiful? What is sexy?

This took me aback a little at first, simply because I don't like lipstick on ANYONE, male OR female. Especially orange! Haha!

But actually it is strangely beautiful in a way.
And I love the slight ambiguity...
The thin line between what is sensual and what is not...
All based on perception, anyway, really!

By the way, I love the gender confusion here...
See, red painted lips are thought to be sexually appealing because they allude to the vaginal...
But, then, on a male... what does this mean?
His hairs can look like pubic hairs...
But what does this mean?
One must ask the question - who is he trying to appeal to? Males? Females? Both? Anyone? Himself?

Oh it's just a really interesting piece which brings up some really interesting thoughts and questions. Good stuff.

The contrast of the soft shiney lips to the coarse facial hair is really striking.. I love the colors you've used on the lips and the vibrant colors too.

Oh wow! While I don't really know what the whole concept is for the series I looooooove the pop this piece has. The lips look so real and juicy and well the moustache looks so well....manly! hehe. Love the contrast...I missed your work. I haven't been on much lately but I decided to actually look at some artwork(yours being the only one). Those lips are so hot! It reminds me of pin-up art except well the facial hair hehe.

I cannot say enough good things about this. The brightness of the lips, the fact that they are indeed so juicy, the abstract and jarring overall quality, oh I love it. So very much.

quite disturbing indeed.
the emotional response this created is crazily awesome. just because of that, i think it's an awesome piece.

the shiny look of the lips feels almost real.

Absolutely incredibly piece; such a gender-bending image!

Its wonderful how intimate and sensual you have made it, really puts a challenge out to the viewers: it almost comes across as obscene.
